Chemtrans was founded in 1995 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, on the banks of the Waal — part of the Rhine's delta and one of Europe's busiest inland waterway corridors. What began as a modest tank storage and inland shipping operation has, over three decades, grown into a company built around a simple idea: that liquid bulk products deserve the same care and precision at every step, from the moment they arrive at our terminal to the moment they leave it.
Today, our core activities centre on the storage, blending and onward transport of petrochemicals, fuels, biofuels and other liquid bulk products. We operate flexible tank configurations designed to handle a range of product types and volumes, supported by direct jetty access and coordinated barge, road and rail connections. Quality control and clear documentation are built into every transfer, so partners can trust that what leaves our terminal is exactly what they expect.
We remain a Netherlands-based, independently run operator — close enough to our own terminal to know its detail, and structured so that partners deal directly with the people running day-to-day operations rather than layers of process. As the industry changes, from tighter safety expectations to the broader energy transition, we continue investing in the infrastructure and practices needed to keep pace, without losing the hands-on approach that has defined how we work since 1995.
